Teradek Prism Mobile

The Teradek Prism Mobile is the lowest-SWaP, LTE-enabled camera-back video

The Teradek Prism Mobile is the lowest-SWaP, LTE-enabled camera-back video encoder in its class. It allows you to reliably stream 4K HDR video from challenging locations when live coverage is required.

You can broadcast to the cloud or a CDN right from your ENG or cine camera. It supports high-resolution video up to 10-bit 4K HDR 4:2:2 with stereo or 5.1 surround sound and it can stream high-quality, low-latency HEVC/H.265 and AVC/H.264 via cloud applications such as Teradek Core or RTMP/RTSP/SRT to servers and CDNs.

It looks like a great solution for news crews or people who need to stream high-quality images and video remotely. Having a system that attaches directly between your camera and a battery makes a ton of sense as it doesn't get in the way and allows you to operate as normal, especially with a camera on your shoulder.

Prism Mobile was designed to be lightweight, and power-efficient. It mounts directly to the Gold / V-mount battery plate on your ENG or camera rig. The unit can also be powered via a 2-pin LEMO power input and it can also be mounted onto a camera or cage using its 1/4″-20 mounting points. Additionally, if you need it for studio or fixed workflows, Prism Mobile is also available as a desktop solution.

The Prism Mobile has a 12G SDI input and output as well as an HDMI 2.0 input. The SD card slot enables you to do internal recording.

The following video resolutions are supported:

The Prism Mobile gives you worldwide internet connectivity virtually anywhere you go as long as you have cell phone coverage. The output options include two internal 4G LTE modems with dual switchable SIM slots (service plans sold separately), external Node modems via USB, cellular phones, Ethernet, or Wi-Fi networks

It utilizes two internal high-throughput Node II modems that were designed specifically for video applications. For maximum redundancy, Prism Mobile can bond up to nine network connections (this does require a Core subscription) across Cellphone Hotspots (4x), Ethernet (2x), and Cellular Modems (3x). It is cloud compatible with Teradek Core, Frame.io, Sony Ci, and PIX.

With the Prism app for iOS and Android, you can manage your Prism devices from a phone or tablet. You can use the app to configure your encoder, monitor and manage your feed, and review streaming stats in real time. If you don't have an internet signal, the Prism app allows you to share your phone's 5G or LTE bandwidth with your Prism device.

The Teradek Prism Mobile is now available to purchase for $5,490 USD.
