Back in January, AVerMedia sent me their GC313Pro. It is a wall charger with a capture card built into it. After using it during our trip to Summer Game Fest, I fell in love with its dual functions.

*Update: The GC313Pro has a new firmware available that will let the device work with the Nintendo Switch 2 as well.

The Specs:

ELITE GO GC313Pro

*C1 DisplayPort 1.4 supports up to 4Kp60 pass-through.

The GC313Pro is a power brick with 2 USB-C 100W (when used solo) charging ports, one 5-watt USB-A port, and an HDMI port for capturing footage. That last part is the kicker, as it allows you to both charge and capture footage at up to 1080p/60fps at the same time.

During our trip to Los Angeles for Summer Game Fest 2025, I used the GC313Pro to keep my laptop running and capturing footage from our hotel television. I plugged the charger into the wall underneath the TV, ran an HDMI cable down to it, and then ran a USB-C cable to my laptop.

It helped make running our XboxEra Podcast and Livestreams a breeze, with no need to haul around a charger and my expensive external capture card with me. Setup was a breeze, being plug and play once AVerMedia’s connect software was installed.

The device retails for just over $100 US right now on Amazon. It’s an easy recommendation if you’re in the specific user group that would want something like this. While it can’t do 1440p or 4k capture if you’re only on Twitch, that should be fine, as the platform is still limited for most users on it. I will be bringing it with me to Gamescom in Germany, as it includes the wall-plug adapters I’ll need to use it there without issue.

Also, a fair word of warning, you will only get the 100-watt USB-C charging if you charge one device at a time. That should only matter for laptops, as phones should be fine with the split 45-watt power you’ll get when powering up two USB-C devices at once. For you console players out there, while you can only capture footage at 1080/60, you’ll still get full 4k resolution on the pass-through function.
